The Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan Health System
in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking an M.D. or M.D. Ph. D.
Academic Neuropathologist.



The Department has a vibrant neuropathology section that includes four full-time faculty who provide care for patients at the University of Michigan Health System and elsewhere through our MLabs program. Our active neuropathology service accessions over 1,300 cases annually and comprises about 700 surgical specimens, over 200 consultation cases, and 350 to 400 nerve and muscle biopsies. The autopsy and forensics service provides opportunities to examine over 200 brains annually. Our Neuropathology Fellowship was recently accredited for one fellow annually.

The successful candidate will actively participate in the academic activities of the department, including collaborative research projects and educational programs that include a neuropathology fellowship. Excellent diagnostic skills and board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology are required. Preference will be given to those with subspecialty interest and expertise in interpretation of nerve and muscle biopsies and/or ophthalmic pathology.

Appointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (clinical track), commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience, accomplishments, and track record of academic achievement.
