Vice Chair and Director, Anatomic Pathology

Position Overview:

The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Associate or Professor to fill the role of Vice Chair and Director of Anatomic Pathology. Responsibilities include diagnostic excellence, exceptional leadership and communication skills and have a national reputation as an academic leader in Anatomic Pathology. The successful candidate will be a critical leader within the Department of Pathology and will work closely with the Chair and other Vice Chairs to lead the Department during this exciting period of expansion and innovation. The successful candidate may have a focused interest in one of the many subspecialties of surgical pathology or cytopathology. The selected faculty member should have a record of demonstrated creativity, productivity, leadership, and scholarship. The role will also be responsible for working with the Educational and Research leaders of the Department to oversee the training, mentoring, research and education of medical students, residents, and fellows in Anatomic Pathology. The Feinberg School of Medicine offers excellent opportunities for translational study, and the ideal candidate will have deep interest and experience with translational investigation.

Qualified candidates will hold MD or MD/PhD degrees and be board certified in AP or AP/CP from the American Board of Pathology. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois. Fellowship training or other significant experience in Anatomic Pathology is required. Rank and remuneration determined by qualifications and experience.
